DISTRICT MEETING FOR VOLLEYBALL AND CROSS COUNTRY

FACA District Cross Country and District Volleyball Meetings are set for October 20, 2008. Your FACA District Chairman will notify you as to the site and time of your meeting.

NOMINATIONS FOR "PLAYER OF THE YEAR" & "COACH OF THE YEAR": The FACA begins the fifteenth year of an awards program to recognize a District "Player of the Year" and District "Coach of the Year" in each classification. These nominees names will be placed on a ballot (representing all 20 FACA Districts) and mailed to the 20 FACA District Chairmen and 10 Florida Prep Sports Writers. Each voter selects 1st, 2nd and 3rd place on the ballot. Class winners will be announced in late December with overall FACA "Player of the Year" & "Coach of the Year" winners named in January. We will do this in all sports. The athletes nominated for this award may be seniors or under-classmen. Coaches must be current (2008-09) FACA members to nominate, vote or be nominated. District Chairman will give anyone who is not a current member a chance to join before the start of the meeting.

ALL-STAR NOMINATIONS: Coaches will nominate athletes and coaches for the 2008 FACA All-Star Classic. Athletes must be graduating seniors to be eligible and coaches must be current (2008-09) FACA members to be eligible. All coaches must be 2008-09 FACA members to nominate and vote for all-stars and all-star coaches. The FACA Board of Directors ruled that an athletes coach must be a current FACA member for that athlete to be eligible to participat in the All-Star Game.

FACA ALL-STATE TEAM: The FACA will for the first time select a FACA All-State Team in each classification. Be sure to complete the All-State Nomination Form for any athlete you plan to nominate. Teams will be selected by a special committee of coaches.

FACA ACADEMIC ALL-STATE TEAM: The FACA will also select an Academic All-State Team in each classification. There will be 20 players selected per classification. One per district. Must have a 3.0 or better GPA and be a starting player to be eligible. You must complete an Academic All-State Nomination Form for any player you nominate.
